Local Community Transport

The Richard Wellesley Memorial Transport Minibus is a 16 seater vehicle (including driver).

It is a new “lightweight” bus which does not require the driver to hold a D1 licence.

Effectively it can be driven on a standard car licence.

RWMT are a registered charity. We provide a community transport service to local villages around Buckland, running passengers into Faringdon twice weekly. Every other Tuesday the bus goes on from Faringdon to Witney or Wantage, once each per month. Passengers with bus passes can travel for free, but those without one can still use the bus for a small fee.

Additionally, the bus is available for private bookings providing that it meets specific conditions, and you have a connection to the local area. As a charity we must remain not-for-profit, and we are only taking external bookings from organised not for profit groups with aims similar to our own. For example, local groups such as Scouts, WI or a Church Choir would meet the criteria, but a family outing or birthday party would not.

The cost to use our bus is based on 96p per mile up to 120 miles and 48p per mile thereafter This covers fuel and reasonable wear and tear. Payment will be due following an invoice which will be emailed to the address that you list on the booking form.

To make a booking, check your date is free on our booking calendar and then submit a booking request.
